who here takes a sample and flips it with another?

im pretty sure get those drums and snares but what about the horns, strings, and stuff? do u save em for later and try to use em for another beat?

im thinkin that it would make the range of melodies more vast, creative and perhaps complex. mayb u guys been doin this for years but yea post away

depends.

personally i will try and find a bass from a sample before i use a synth. so i usually make a note if there is a bass on a rec and how many notes there are.

bass is much easier to filter and change up. so it usually just fits

Nah, I don't mix & match samples like that, don't feel like matching pitches. If I want to add something to my sampled joint, I'll just accompany the sample with my own synths/sounds.

i dnt sample basslines, sometimes i combine 2 different samples (diff songs) in 1 song, but normally i sample and compose depends on the day, but if i sample i always add my stuff to it, synths, pianos etc.

I dont do it much, because like everyone said it's hard...but I strive to layer 4-5 samples on a track...thats where you get that freshness

and yes, i do samples horns and strings and sounds and save them on my MPC and try to use them later when I get new main samples i think theyll fit with...but i usually end up making full projects and scrapping them cause it just isnt right, I need a 10band EQ
