"Tropics"
http://www.soundclick.com/util/strea...ID=305739&q=Hi

Y-itEarp

the name of the track is: Life in the Pack

i tried to bring a little more traditional battle flavor to the competition while keeping it production oriented instead of juggling n stuff.

no samples were used other than the things that are skratched.

ok.. both these tracks have something that I don't like in them. In el_cann's I hate the xylo sound, it's too reverby and loud for my taste but everyone else seems to love it. In Y-It's beat, I don't like the scratching - it's just too much and off beat at times.

Beyond the parts I don't like.. I will have to pick one soo...

Vote: Y-ItEarp.. the grimier of the two..

ya know its kind of interesting...

for the round 4 its come down to a funk battle and a triphop battle... just thought it was funny that both the round 4 battles pit similar styles against each other.

ill shut up now...

vote y-itearp, ill give candy to everyone, kiss your hands and shake your babies! wait i think i got that backwards...

i use 2 1200s, a rane ttm-56, cubase, pro audio, pro tools, sound forge, reason, a midi controller keyboard, MD recorder, , and stax o wax for the most part, sometimes i borrow an mpc or other gear from peoples in my crew and mess around with it.

i posted lots of pics of my setup in the scratching forum here

my vote- y-it earp

y-it earp- i liked the stracthing actually, but i hated the discovery channel samples or something, when i listen to msuic i do not want a lesson bout animals.nice production though.

el can..- i like the xylophone thing and its was good, but when u compare it to earps it jsut seems really simple, which could be a goo thing, but not in this case. good beat and all though.

yeah theyre lots of fun. would be nice to get one, but considering the pricetag and i have many of the same functions available with my current setup, its tough to justify not spending the cash on records instead

thanks for the comments aarockla, i hear what yer sayin about the strange sampling, just with how much i hear scratching i get tired of using/hearing the same samples over and over. i rather enjoy finding some new unused sample that talks sh*t in a different way, talkin bout dominating all others and learning your place in the game n all that jazz like that wolf sample did. i didnt even look at is as a nature lesson i guess, even when i first heard it i immediately took it as a parallel to people/competition, didnt even think of the literal aspect of it.

I'm voting earp because he demonstrated more sonic sophistication by intergrating more audio elements. cannbilisto has promise but he just didn't give us much. Right on Right On
Check me in the next battle ahh-ite. I'm outtie
