its just like a drum break as far as i know, just like a fancy word for a cool drum pattern lol

http://www.cratekings.com/300-classi...les-and-loops/

thats the top 300 of all time, i got a lot of the drums for my personal drum kit from here...honestly i SUCK at putting a drum break behind a beat, like the full drum pattern...i would rather just make my own, but i did use these breaks to get single kicks, snares, hats, etc...

so yeah a drum break is basically like a drum patter that u would loop

unless im wrong, if so then ur on ur own cuz i'd be as lost as you lol

Yea a breakbeat is the section in a song usually 2/3 through the song near the 2nd chorus or bridge where the vocalists steps back and lets the musicians have a go at it. That's where the best samples are (IMO). The "funky drummer" always gets at least 8 bars to do his thang. You can also find great horn rifts and guitar solos there too. I guess it's where the vocalist takes a "break" in the record, haha? And this break placement rule is not 100%, some breaks are at the intro of a song, especially drum breaks, or the end.
