keep them and layer over...if you need to filter them out and its not a voice sample you probably are off beat anyway

I like hte drums in the original sample, they sound cool, I just layer over them anyways...for variation you could always drop likethe snares or something and then let the snares from the sample paly for a bar or so...

"If the the drums hit too hard it will take the mellowness vibe [out of] the whole track and make it stupid sounding. I know that may not make a lot of sense to today's producers aka fans with clout, but louder and harder isn't always the way to go." -Marol

Or am I just mis-reading? Me, I ALWAYS filter.

You've never filtered your samples to remove the low ends before? I find that very hard to believe......I always filter......that's normally my first step.........

you can do it, but u usually have to replace ur own drums over or very close to the same pattern...i personally prefer samples that have no drums, more versatility...so yeah its possible to make them very quiet, but unless you have really good technique/equipment, with my experience, you cant completely remove them...a hi pass filter and a bass cut could get most of them out if thats what ur askin for...
