it depends on the sample??? thats best answer i got...**** sometimes i get a sample and the actual song is so freaking slow that i speed it up like crazy...i cant tell ya tempo tho i do all of mine in double time, but in general i have found the greater majority of rap lies between 80 and like 110 MAX bmp...the high and low of that may be hard for some unskilled rappers to get on tho...

btw many of dres lie around 94 bpm if i remember correctly...

is it different for FL? cause if i have the tempo around 100 in FL or anything lower it sounds crazy slow. A lot of mine are around 160-180 tops. i never really go above 180, it starts sounding too fast past 180.

i have all my beats in the double time set up, doesnt matter, 80 and 160 beats sound exactly the same unless you add notes on the "extra" half notes that you add by doubling tempo...i do it double for more flexability where i can just slow down by a half bpm without having to mess with the number after the decimal

the snare should start on the 5th box, square thing in for normal time, therefor it will be starting on the 9th in double time...thats in FL...u've just got ur patterns all messed up, you are going 100 as your 'slow' just because the number and 189 as your 'high' just because the number...180 sounds too fast paced for you cuz u didnt rearrange the drums for double time, every pattern will be multiplied by two...180 is 90 bpm, it is SLOWER than your 100, not faster

i will guaruntee that your snares you are placing on the 5th box and you never change them whether you are at 100 or 180, when u have it at 180 put the snare at the 9th box and it will be right
