could somebody please explain to me what the **** this **** is, what it does, and how to do it...what benefits it gives ur tracks etc.? i have been reading old posts on here and a buncha people talk about it but i have no clue what the **** it is...i run FL8 by the way so if anybody has any tips that they need to know that, thats what i use...





i know its a stupid question, but i'd rather ask and learn than be a retard with pride...

it basically fixes timing...like if you play fuct up, it will move the midi notes to the closest beat..(1/16th, 1/8th, 1/4th, etc)...i guess the best way for u to really see what it does is to play sumthin and quantize it...

as far as benefits, it makes it easier if you dont have the timing/piano skills...but sometimes its wack just cus it takes the "realness" out of playing live since people naturally dont play at the EXACT perfect time..

It can also change the velocity of each hit to add a human feel to it.

you can edit the velocities in Fruity Loops to make it more human sounding without quantizing.
quantizing, velocity, swing and time stretching should be something all producers should know about.
