Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to this forum and i haven't been making beats for too long, but I've learned a lot just from reading here. I also just started sampling and I'm having a lot of trouble with the drums. On some samples you can still hear the drums and sometimes they get in the way of the beat. How to i get rid of the drums of the sample or filter it to make it less noticeable? I'm using reason 4. Thanks ahead of time

Everyone who starts on this forum asks this question!!!! You cant, unless your a sound/mastering engineer, even still its not possible. Learn to use the drums in the track to your advantage or just overlay them with your own percussion.

If you're lucky some older songs have the drums panned to the left or right (I found a couple like this). So it makes it pretty simple, but that is rare to find. Try to EQ it out, and if all else fails, layering your drums over it can produce some great results.

Bingo. Haha, I usually make my drum pattern to work along with the samples drums. Two reasons, I don't use the filters on my MPC (often) so I hear the full effect of the drums while making the beat, and two, because if you get it right it sounds waaaaaay better when your pattern isn't confilcting the original drums.

its actually not that hard. i use fruity loops and in that i use the fruity filter. after u f*ck around wth the knobs and see which each one does, u can do a pretty good job in drowning the backround instruments and isolate just the voice in the sample. theeen layer ur own drums over that b1tch and your good. so reason should have some **** like that. holla back
