777 Notes:
That guitar sample is from one of my favorite musical pieces.. I think it should have been used more sparingly though. There are some mixing adjustments you could make as far as the levels of the intruments. I think they are too low. The reversed drum pattern you use as a fill is not aligned properly.

Nice beat but somewhat lackluster. I like the instruments and the melody, but I think the drums need more life.

777-nice sample, though it seems like it doesnt loop all that well, used a bit more sparingly sounds about right. the snare is WAY too low in the mix, sounds like you almost dont have one. nice kick drum rhythm, though.

jrunkenc-nice bass, spooky piano, but the strings that come in around 25 seconds are kinda thin, dont have much body to em. i like the keyboards after em though, maybe lower em an octave or something, they seem a bit high toned for the track but maybe thats just me.

777 - quality is decent but that snare needs a lot of work. that guitar should be boosted into the mix a little beat. i'm diggin the mood though.

JrunkenC - same thing as 777, sound quality is good but the sounds used don't sound as good. the ideas are not bad. if someone took the midi file and flipped it with proper sounds then it could become something.

i'm going with 777 but not by much.

777: would've voted for you, but that off-beat sample made my ears upset. With samples like that, where there are little pauses to give the effect of hesitance, you need to chop up the whole works and properly allign the notes with the drums.

Jrunk: I hit the DL, and then started doing some other stuff. When the beat came on, it hooked me immediately, but then those piddly drums came on, and I was slightly disappointed

i wasn't gonna use that beat for the contest. i was actually workin on one specifically for this battle but then i was browsing this board and saw it had already started as you can see by the first reply i wasn't ready. it's all good though. uh scratch that NFX edited his reply

My vote goes to 777

777 - I think the sample shoulda been cropped better and it woulda made the track alot cleaner.

JrunkenC - I woulda gave u the vote on pure originality but I wasnt feelin the way you mixed it down. The bass was way overpowering and kindy muddied the other parts when it was playin. Cool melodies though.
