Hey all, I have been using a standard old keyboard as a MIDI controller but I wanna get my MC-307 Groovebox running in MIDI so I can use the knobs and such to tweak the sounds but I can't get it to work right. I have a SB Live! Platinum and a couple software synths and I am trying to get the Groovebox running so the sounds wil respond but I can't seem to get them to communicate between the groovebox and the computer. Has anyone else set up their groovebox for this? I looked in the anual but the instructions for hooking it to a computer are vague and confusing and not much help.

i had the mc303 for years, and at somepoint i controlled it from Cakewalk, EVERY parameter in realtime. I think this is what you want to do.

search the net for groovebox sites explaining how to control it as a SOUND MODULE (this is the secret)

If you use Cubase, you'll need a MIXERMAP to tweak the knobs and record movements in realtime, under Cakewalk the equivalent is called a GROOVEWARE PANEL I think.

once everything is plugged together (and the gbox in MODULE mode), it's as easy as controlling ANY midi module/racks, since it's multitimbral (16 parts/channels/instruments running at the same time)

good luck.
