How/Where do you get bass that sounds authentic? Like you can hear/feel the pull on it, as oppose to just a tone being played. Like for example the bass Pete Rock is using starting at 1:40. Man I can never find that type of bass. is there a synth or somewhere to sample this from? Peace!
Although I will say with the Electric/Acoustic bass patches can be a little overwhelming, so you're going to have to do a little tweaking/EQ'ing to get them to sit right in the mix.
im 90% sure that pete sampled a bassnote from a record then just map it out to 16 lvls?
exactly my feeling to. even if he did do a live bass you wouldnt notice becuase the pitch shifting at these frequencies dont sound as distorted.
but i think he might have 2 notes to use. there is a different sound in both...maybe the same record or live bass but it sounds a bit different.
1 sample will cause distortion but ill give you about 5 notes that sound natural
3 sample is stretching a bit but the keys sound decent enough...for a bass this is enough
5 is proffesional quality.
7 is overkill and in older programs would crash,
on a more serious level anyone think pete had his nails done? they are almost the same colour as my ****ing chain.
