How would i go about making sampled beats on the OpenLabs NeKo?

I can make a hot beat with just about any sound on the NeKo without using samples but i want to be more versatile in my beat making and use samples, maybe ol school songs, orchestra pieces ect..A cousin of mine works with sampled beats but he uses fruity loops with no keyboard at all, reaper was easiest for me to learn so i wanted to stick with reaper as far as that but i do have fruity loops on my NeKo also though..i have Native Instruments Komplete 5 on my Neko so i was wondering can Battery 3 or Kontact 3 could help me sample.

Any helpful tips?
