TRACK 4 - AIN'T NOBODY AS ILL AS ME...

B. Ward
i really didn't wanna do this beat (because it has a sample), but the other one I just wasn't feeling when I finished it, but oh well this will do.......pretty much just a snippet but it's good enough, hit me up if you wanna hear the entire beat, it's pretty long...lol

I vote B. Ward. He has a very clean, produced sound. His beats are all ready for release.

... gotta vote B.Ward on that joint. I was feelin your jointz too Merz, but there's just something about Soul Survivor that pulls me in to it... def some tight sh*t there.... feelin' both of your jointz on tha real, but tha vote goes to B.Ward for a nice composed production and sound.

Both were hot but B. Ward gets my vote. His track moved me more. Maybe the mix did it for me!

yeah gotta vote b. ward on this one. both were nice tracks, but b. ward's sample was less repetitive and the drum pattern seemed to fit it a bit better.

vote to b. ward

for sure tight battle

B Ward had a tight composition, really sick flow, the sounds were all clean cut, i started freestylin to this ****, I see big things with these kind of beats, down right the ****

Merz - the beggining made me knod my head for sure, this sounds like some **** Nature or Nas would flow to, this was ill too, a simpler beat that was easy to flow too, the thing i didn't like at first about this was the chorus because it seemed just a little too out of place, but the more i listened the more i liked

heres the breakdown
complexity - B ward
flow - Merz
chorus - Merz
breakin necks - B ward
lace with vox - tie

I'mma give this ****in battle a tie, as gay as that sounds, but I mean they were both downright ill, and they both represented opposite ends of production styles.....

congrats to both producers!

yo i felt merz joint over b.ward's joint. it had a more hip-hop feel + i could actually see an artist doing something to it. b's joint doesnt have that sound, i could never hear a artist on it. thats my opinion. I vote for merz

Congratulations to both finalists. This is a tough decision for me.

Both of your tracks were great... Here's my break down:

Both are sample based.
Both are produced well.

Merz.. catchy and bumpin.

BWard: Complex and suspensful.

it's a dead heat so far......

the advantage for Merz is that I think its a better track for mainstream.

The advantage for B.Ward is that from a composition standpoint I think it's done more skillfully.

That leaves me to one hard decision to make...

So... if I was with a record label and had to pick one I would probably go with the more marketable sounding one...

Vote: Merz.

My reasoning may seem like a sellout (going for the mainstream...) but thats how it works in the real world. So while technically B.Ward may have shown slightly more skill in his production, Merz was close enough and gained the tiniest edge with the catchier sample.

And BTW I chose not to listen to other tracks by either one so I am voting on the merits of this one song from each and nothing more.
