i wanna make a track with a sample saying the hook but the music from the samples original composition is totally different from what i want to put it to so without doing this, the sample and new track would clash, any suggestions?

use an eq to cut the freq you don't want in the sample. if the vocals are in the midrange, then cut the highs and the lows. simple. you'll have experiment to get the sound you want tho, but thats the basics of it. forget a compressor in this instance. it controls dynamics, not freqs.

If the vocal dosen't match the track theres very little you can do in my opinion...

In terms of key you have to find some common ground...pitch can help....EQ will just smear the picture, so to speak

I can honestly say that I'm pretty nice when it comes 2 matching vocals to a track, trust me. It's just minimizing the original music as much as possible that is the concern.

Or try recreating the vocal yourself or with another singer if that option is possible.
