the song has a female vocalist singing something like: "Moon vision... magic moves" or maybe "magic moons" or "magic moods"... it has some violins and piano in it too

can't quite make out the vocals too well but there's a video to it on youtube if you search for:
"Damu on the MPC2000 in Washington Square Park"

any help would be greatly appreciated

The very start to me sounds like the Rhinestone Cowboy - MF Doom, produced my Madlib. Im sure the sample is Jeansy by Novi Singers, some polish jazz band. I havent been able to find that song yet though.

Oh. Those strings at the start sound just like it. I'd like to hear Jeansy anyway. Thanks.

yeah novi and damu kill it.

but i'm not sure it's that one.

also he has chooped the vocals up and sounds as if it's pitched up as well so it might not be in that order or even say anything remotly like it. so i would go for Urszula Dudziak she was the main female vocals for a while went solo so maybe go dig in that direction.

hey your highness,

i spent around 12 hours yesterday going through most of her albums and it seems she doesn't really sing anything in english... she does more of this wordless vocalizing because she doesn't speak english very well

but while searching i thought maybe her ex-husband, michal urbaniak, had something to do with this song because it does have some violin featured in the clip

how do you know the singer is speaking in english? when you pitch up or pitch down vocals, the constenants become muffled. j dilla made a sample for "player" with the words "claire"

she could be speaking polish?

anyways. sorry if i dropped you down a wrong path but im certain it is in that area of eastern euro jazz. hmmmn Urbaniak, there is a great website called the-breaks dot com which has a forum on vinyl...it has a eastern euro jazz section you might like to look at
