I dont like the Roland JP8000 in the first place so I would say the korg wins.

I really dont like th egrain of the sound of the JP. No wonder it was one of the first analog-ish digital synths, they got the simulation better since.

But hey.. I think the Virus B or the Novation Supernova II kicks both of them.

my 2 cents.

I got a JP-8000 and well now I wouldn't buy it again, as mano said it was one of the first virtual analogs, and it was cheaper than the nord lead. It's nice for pads and some leads but it sucks for bass sounds, the filter envelop sucks, it always adds clicks on the attack of the sounds...beurk...

I've listen to the nova and it got some really nice sounds and features...if it'll be your only synth, I think it'll be a good choice.

I've never listen to the virus.

The Nord Lead 2, I've listened to it many times and loved it a lot, but if you're looking for phat sounds it won't be a good choice. The Nord Lead is perfect when you've to deal with complex orchestrations, it fits very well in the final mix.

Both good synths, although the Roland is probably better than the Korg.

I personallyu wouldn't go for the Roland though as i don't think you really get what you pay for.

Go for the Nova or Supernova, much better synth all round.

Rich.
