there is a vid on you tube about upgrading the ram in the mpc 1k by christianaffiliate, in his vid he tells u the kind of memory that u needm its actually laptop memory and is cheaper than getting it from akai itself. u can find the memory on amazon for 10 -25 dollars. when watching the vid write down the name of the ram that is used it will scroll around the bottom of the sceen near the begining of the vid and he also goes over how to install it. i had the same trouble in the mean time i would shorten the sample like on the the replies suggested and sample in mono. hope that i could be of assistance.
