This was a really hard one for me to judge.
I really like both entries.
Foerster really caught me off gaurd with the "Hill Street" sample.
But there were a few awkward splices in his sampling, and there was a lot fuzz in the right channel. And I don't know if the fuzz was from the sample source or the result of trying to push the mix too much.
NFX's joint, I still say, is more techy than hip hop. But his production is just so damn tight.

So...

I had to give it to NFX.

Good job, fellas.

Vote: Foerster

Foe's joint was hip hop, the other wasn't based enough in hip/ hop for me personally. Too techno for me. Foe took everyone her off guard with th mellowness of the joint.

Foerster - nice litttle beat on the current trend of 70's mellow sample based tracks. I like it though it is pretty simple. Rugged and raw feel to the drums too...

NFX - sounds like an old school breaks track. hmmm... production is pretty sharp though. i'm diggin it as an instrumental.

I'm gonna go with Foerster on this one. It just has more of a head nod appeal to me.

There is a bit of static due to the record that I sampled the strings from. Also, not sure if it was you that posted the last comment on the first round page... someone said that they weren't feeling the synth at the end... Just want to clarify, it's a sample, not a synth (not that it matters).

Peace

Foerster gets my vote. The other joint was too much on the techno tip for me. Foerster's joint sounded kinda dirty on the mix but i cant fault a man for crappy mixing as i dont know what he is working with. Nice sample on that beat though.
