I am looking for a site where people post honest reviews of music they have downloaded from the internet.

Also a site where artist can submit their URLS to the editors of the site and have their tracks reviewed.

Kinda like what happens on the UNSIGNED ARTIST section here..but on a grand scale.

Some Constructive feedback from the pros...but real knowledge from the peeps who download and bump tracks!!

Any suggestions??

mmhh.. Well it is the purpose of this forum actually (unsigned artists).

The thing is that MANY people are looking for "reviews" of their own music... many means "m-a-n-y" on the internet today. So not everyone gets feedback.

Feel free to post one song in particular to this forum... If you post one song, people will easily review it for you. See you soon.

Well thanks for the information, but let me clarify.

Yes I am interested in getting feedback on the projects that I do..but that is not my only reason for wanting to see reviews. There are so many artists on the web and specifically on MP3.Com - that it would take months if not years of just sitting online downloading and listening to tracks just to find enough great tracks to put on my stations. I get emails from artist suggesting tracks all the time- but of course we artists are always a little biased. NO one ever sends out an email saying listen to my stuff and add it to your station - it is mediocre. It could be better.

No everybody says my stuff is the phattest tracks you ever heard and I should already have a record deal!!

So in order to sift through I have to give each artist a chance- and therefore a listen. And a lot of times you find jewels. But most of the time- well let's just say the music does not always live up to the hype.

SO what I am seeking is a forum where maybe the site may review a track or two from an artist and critque it- and then individuals can throw their two or three cents in- and then it would help me decide which artists get heard FIRST.

I run 3 stations currently on MP3.COM
RADIO INCAHOOTS, IC HITLIST and JAZZ DA WAY I LIKE IT.

I feature all kinds of music in many different formats- but I am always seeking to give exposure to unique artists; or those with exceptional production and/or songwriting skills.
Diverse sounds, profound lyrics. And sometimes I just put up a song because when I hear it- I just LIKE IT - regardless of it's commercial appeal.

I like to be exposed to artists doing their thing- and doing there best to share their craft with the world via the internet.

IF you wanna see how what kind of artists I select..
Check out the IC HITLIST- http://www.mp3.com/stations/ic_hitlist

Okay I got what you mean now.

Well it is a good idea I think. We could do that. The site will review a song per week as a start, picked from the posts in "unsigned artists". The site review will be posted in the forum, and other people will be able to reply to the topic and throw their 2 cents.

How about this?

There will be a text at the top of this particular forum explaining how it will work:

HOW THE UNSIGNED ARTIST FORUM WORKS:
. Every monday, the onlineDJ.com staff is posting the review of a track as a topic with the word (REVIEW).
. Any other member can reply to this topic with his own feelings about the track.
. In order to request a review, post a new topic with the word (REQUEST) in the topic, containing a direct link to the song.

Thanks for the feedback FUNKYG, it is pushing the site in the right direction.

Sincerely,

That sounds like a plan to me.

But one problem..sometimes the direct links can get MAD LONG..
I was trying to cut and past a direct link to one of the downloads on MP3.COM yesterday on a similiar page..

and there was no way I was gonna get the whole thing in a form!!

So as long as the link is part of a text message- it will work fine!!

Okay, so when the direct link to the song is not possible, the user can post a link to the page where the song is, and specify the title of the song.

Actually, as I type I am creating custom NEW THREAD and REPLY pages for unsigned artists. I'll make it easy.

Take care, see you around. By the way, bring some of your friends over to join the forum. Would be fun
