Sup everyone?

Okay, I recently sold off all my gear to start re-building a new one. I was about to buy the RM1X with the SU700. But recently I came across the YAMAHA RS7000 workstation:

http://www.yamahasynth.com/pro/rs7000/index.html

This thing look like a fuggin monster of a "dance-workstation" Part RM1X and part SU700. It seems to have been built from the RM1X
architecture and the SU700 [although less sampling time can be held, they've added a SCSI port on the back for ZIP drive possibilities to import and export samples As well as the use of a Smart Media card in front!]

Also, from what I've gathered, this system will also be compatible with ROLAND's GM system as announced at this years NAMM coinvention. It should be coming out early Summer -- late Spring?

Anyway, it seems Yamah hasn't got much information online about this creature yet, so if you've got an inside angle with this sequenser/sampler I'd really like to hear more. Thanks!

Another great feature [about the RS7000] is that MIDI sequences can be generated automatically, with samples being broken into parts based on amplitude peaks and then treated as MIDI data [ALA ReCycle.] You can then also apply the same processes and filters to your samples as with the internal synth voices.

Again, if anyone has anymore info on this product, please post.

Cola,

I went to check out the site you posted, but it doesn't seem to be there anymore Oh well... I'm sure we'll see some more news RE: RS7000 from the online music stores and YAMAHA soon.

I'll bet we'll eventually see RS7000.COM sites too.

Nevertheless, thank you for the post. Later...
