So,

I got new ill headphones... Hd 280 Pro's. I made a beat and wanted to test how it sounded on my other comp and its sound system 5.1 . I notice the sample i flipped was very bassy and I am not sure how to get the bass lowered via sample in fruityloops. Is there a certain property I goto in the sliced up sample to lower the bass a bit? Its not that bassy via headphones but once i let it run on the sound system there is a bit to much bass.

Help please.

thanks!

You want to run a High Pass filter over the sample.

Assign your chops to a mixer FX channel, and add the "Fruity Free Filter" to your effects chain.

Set the type as "High Pass", start with setting the "freq" knob to around 150-200 Hz, and the Q to 1-2 bars.

Tweak from there.

Or you could merely EQ the bass using the Parametric EQ, your choice, depending on the sound you want.

If you're going to add your own bassline, then it'd probably be better to filter. If you merely just want to "lower" the bass, then EQ may work better for you.

There are better EQ's out there, but I just pointed you to these 2 tools, as I KNOW that you have them.
