since my hard drive is slowly dying on me (i think) and my computer likes to lock up on me all the time, i think its pretty funny what all i have to do just to make a beat...

1st i chop the sample up in cool edit...BUT i cant export anything cause it will lock up my pc, so i have to reboot in safe mode to export my chops... and since theres no sound if safe mode i have to reboot to make the beat in FL...and my pc will lock up if i try to mix down the beat, so i have to reboot to safe mode to mix down the beat..
.it sucks cause once i find a sample and hear what i wanna do w/ it in my head, by time i get to acutally make the beat alot of the time i 4get what i wanted to do w/ it... and i cant wait till i get my new hard drive (hopefully thats even the problem)

If you love music..buy a new hard drive. (You can get a decent one for about $35 these days)

damn thats real rough i but u make some nice songs tho cos u don't really have the luxery to relaxe and save your chops and come back to them u might wanna try and reinstall your computer if it's still acting stupid like that

oh yeah what fl r u using cos u know that u can chop and record all in one in fl 7 or 8.

if you were serious about music you should at least invest in a new harddrive, or probably a new computer

start by formatting that computer, save all ur stuff to disk and then wipe the drive. if it is the harddrive, you'll know for sure after you format cause it'll do the same thing, if it's due to the machine being poorly kept and having mad unnessecary sht on it, it'll show after you wipe it cause it'll perform better. normally harddrive's crap out all together, but i've seem them do wacky stuff too, like my machine used to just cut off and reboot by itself, then it happened more and more frequently til it would not boot at all. so restore ur machine, then see how it behaves, then get the new harddrive and see what happens.
