Firstly id like to say hi to everyone as i havent been here for a while after iv signed up.

second, id like some help to solve a problem.

I've just bought a Shure sm58 microphone for some vocal recording using cubase sx. The problem is that when i run it through my behringer mic100 preamp, the preamp doesnt pick up any signals from the microphone. the mic does not need phantom power and even if it did the preamp is capable of delivering it. the preamp does work as iv been using it for some time with another microphone.
when i try to plug the mic straight into the comp without the preamp the volume records way too low for me to do anything with it.
If there is any other information i can give to explain this problem please let me know.
I hope someone can see something i cant.......
