Im looking to buy a used drum set. Are there any things I should be looking out for? Certain brands that sound better than others? I defenetely want something that sounds good that I can eventually incorporate into my beats. Maybe some vintage drums. Any ideas on where to go to get a good price?
brands for your first drum set? not so much. Just make sure that the hardware is in good shape. Make sure there is not warping in the wood and that all the lugs are there. Even look for sets with broken heads and you will save a bunch because heads are relatively cheap and easy to change. Tuning is another story but definitely possible for a beginner. I recommend looking locally first and make sure not to spend over 500 for the whole thing. I;m talking a basic 5 piece too. Including cymbals and such. This is used of course if you want to look new there is nothing really worth buy under the 500 dollar range for a complete kit. There are a few close but cymbals lack way too much.
This is not my first drum set. I havn't played drums in a loooong time. Let me ask my question again, Can I get a used 5-piece drum set that sounds good enough to incorporate into my beats for $500-750?
Ya but the hard thing is recording. You better have the right mics and cables and interface and skill to record edit mix and make that all fit into your beats
