I was wondering can your get your songs copyrighted if they have a samples in it? I know still have to get the sample cleared, but can you still get your material copyrighted you dont have your samples cleared?

clearin the sample is done by the label who's puttin the song out.. so NO you dont have to clear nothin to copyright .... thers 2 typs of copyrights so u gotta know which application to fill out and how... go here.. www.copyrights.org all the information you need is on this site...

im assuming he's not signed to a label...maybe that assumption was premature ... however if you aren't and you plan on selling that material independently ... you MUSt clear that sample is what i was getting at

You need permission before copyrighting a work containing samples.

dudes need to really do research and know what they say before saying it cause yall gon confuse somebody thats lookin for answers... and this topic has been discussed plenty of times on here... yet a buncha people wanna give advice on what they kno nothin about...

nobody is trying to confuse. Just everyone heard somethin different.

I read you copyright the arrangement that you did of the song. IE your chops and how you play them. not the song itself.
