well, 200 is a lil low, but you might get lucky, but remember, this is an investment, maybe wanna save a lil more, but for $200, you could prolly get a squire, there made by fender, and have a decent sound

its also a good idea to maybe "build" a bass, because for under 1,000, a fender jazz p/j bass is the best, if you buy the body, neck and head seperate, put your strings on, you can get a fender p/j bass thats normally like 800+ for roughly $300 just because you built it, parts are way cheaper seperate

You can probably score a p/j special for like $500 if you look around. Definitely a good investment, otherwise, the Squire may be for you.

Squier by Fender, Yamaha, or Ibanez are quality entry level devices.

Probably less than $200.

Probably could spend a few hundred more and pick up a better piece of equipment, but unless you have money to burn, those above brands are good entry pieces.

Then again you can look on ebay for some deals. Ebay is full of guys who spent $1500 on Music Man Stingray only to discover after a few months that they don't really want to or can't play anymore.

My 2nd bass was an Ibanez and it was great after my first bass which was a POS. I think it was $250 for the bass + amp.

Just get whatever you can afford and worry about the more expensive stuff later after you know how to play.

The b**** in u makes u run for cover when I spit at u. Man to man zone Allen Iverson couldn't dribble through. Rapid-fire syllables. U gotta bribe me wit' a mil or 2 to keep me from killin' u with the lyrical.

Ibanez is sweet. When I worked at mf I was really really really impressed with the rogue basses. Fender makes them.
