Am I missing something or do you have to calculate the bpm for every sample you load into recycle? I never know the tempo of my samples, it seems weird that you would have to know that, but its messing me up when I load it into Reason without knowing the tempo. Gotta do it all by ear, no bars or metronome or nothing.

I don't know if this is what you are referring to but if its a perfect loop, just tell Recycle how many bars it is and it will tell you what the approximate tempo is. I say "approximate" because sometimes its a little off.

Yeah, most of the time I take chops from all parts of the song, beginning to end. Don't use loops as much.

If you use chops the tempo should not matter, i never bother finding the tempo at all. I just make it fit one way or the other. Either i adjust the pitc/osc envelope or the tempo or a combi of the two. None of rex files play as tight fitting loops, i always replay the chops by hand and adjust them to fit. But thats just me. Guess thats why i don't bother to use recycle that much anymore, more trouble than it's worth.

Alright thanks for the feedback yall. One more question: how do you change your playback settings so that when you trigger a sample it plays the sample from beginning to end versus when you trigger the sample it only plays it as long as you have the key on your keyboard held down?

I've got it the second way. But I want it classic mpc style where you hit the key once and the sample plays.

phirst, just turn up the release in the amp evelope and set the polyphony to 1. that should give you the classic mpc style triggering you're looking for.

You need to know how to counts bars and beats to enter the right
info or it gives you the wrong tempo
