Did a laid back hip hop joint the other day reminiscant of some 90's Dilla sh*t or something.

Any and all feedback is welcome.

Two points if you can tell me the artist or album the sample has been used on in the past.

Nice beat. Drums didn't really have that Dilla feel to them. He could program drums and make 'em sound live! Still took me back though, nice work.

Snare sounds a little early...you may have done that on purpose but it makes the groove kinda hard to get used to. This is tight though, I like that it doesn't sound chopped to pieces, it flows really well.

yeah...what phirst said is about right. the snare doesn't matchup with the head bob! try quantizing them...or something! the sample is nice...but i can't really recollect where i've heard it either. sounds kinda like summer madness by kool and the gang. if that's the sample...then fresh prince would've been the one. but they didn't even use that part of the song...they used another part! or am i off?!?!? let me know!

This was on a Justus League or Little Brother song. IF it was sampled prior to that then I don't know. And if it was someone major back in the 90s I should be ashamed.

Is there anything you people can't do...besides manual labor?

that was tight but i agree the snare sounds a bit off. some straight 90's dilla **** right there.

for real though how do you drop the bass line like that? is it single notes or a chord sequence, and what you usin for that bass?
