No, this not how to sample drums, but more of who you use to sample drums. Is there that one person who's always got some banging a@# stuff or do you get your drums from different records as you hear them.
PEACE!!!

I look any and everywhere for drums...most folks who sample drums do the same if they've been in it for a while...a lot of new cats mess with banging beats.com (hell, old heads too for that matter) and places like that. Basically, you can get a decent package from one of those guys to get your feet wet, then once you get an idea of what you want, you can start seeking out those sources on your own (from cds, records, mp3s, etc)...learning to sample your own drums will only help you! But do what you need to get started.

Word up man for you doing your own thing because a lot of people don't touch 90's , but i'm just curious do you use anything from the 60's or 70's?

I sample drums as I hear them on the records. Ill just listen to a lot of records and sample the drums when I hear some open hits. Gatta love the breaks tho.
I dont think anyone has an actual artist they go to to get drums as theres only so many songs by an artist with open drums in it. Just listen to records and take them when you hear them.

Another question I would like to ask is what do you EQ'em with. (IF they need it)I was thinking about getting a BBE compressor to go with my moc 1000 and turntable and pro tools.
