try looking out for this main spice, sounds with natural reverb, (or lots of shiz added later) find melodies and take out a note or two, weed smoking music? listen to some dub music, tubby, scratch, scientist, there are lots.

old blacksploitation soundtracks, just got my hands on Blacula, and the last track has just what i like for weed smoking, i got a drum and bass groove decided, and i scratch/cue this little sample over it, and record that to two track, sounds fun.
