Yall prefer a upbeat flip like a turning a soul joint or w/e u samping into a upbeat type of beatt possible club style??? or yall prefer flippin something into a smooth beat oldschool style..just pure hip hop

and i know some people gonna post "i do whatever..".. im asking though.. which ones u like more

i like the upbeat flips that possibly can be club type ****

but even though i like that.. i still dont make too much upbeat **** with the flips cuz the flips i usually do do not usualyl support a high tempo beat.

ill give yall an example..

UPbeat sampled beats flipped:
Let's talk by Lil wayne
Down and out by cam'ron
I really mean it by cam'ron
They know (even though its just looped)

Laid back beats flipped..
Feelin it -jay z (even though its just looped)
mo money mo murda by az (even though its just looped too)
feel it in the air by beanie sigel
The people- common

I like to flip both sample styles. I usually don't loop, I just chop the sounds I want.

Come to think about it, I like upbeat samples more (it's the energy)

laid back.

i feel the artists can be more lyrical on them without the beat becoming to overpowering.

My answer really is "whatever". Honestly, if a sample is "laid back" and i like it, i'll use it. Or if it's not but the end result is after i flip it and i like, i'll use it. Same goes for the other way. But, overall, i think upbeat tracks will always stand out more, or really down beat (which are probably my favorite to make but hardest to get a rapper on).
