am i the only one that arranges my sample b4 i do my drums??? just curious. lol. also, wat do u think is the best looping software to get good loop points?
i used to do the chops first, but now i lay down a drum pattern first. use adobe to record and fix up the sample and make small chops...then i chop further more in ni battery 2 in FL studio.
I lay down the chops first, then drums. I always end up going back and re doing the chops though. I don't really think it matters though, its all about the end result.
I use to always do my chops to a metronome. Now i just use a drum loop as it just is easier to figure out if you can get away with "looser" timing. If you don't have drums, you might feel your samples are too sloppy when in reality, with drums they are fine. So i use a loop, then go back and make drums when my samples are arranged.
i chop first and then lay my drums... I can control the drums more and play off the sample to make the track sound more fluid by doing it that way Then after I have my samples sequenced and drums laid, I either leave it alone or add additional instrumentation
i lay drums down, a scratch pattern but i get the sound i want out of em..cut the kicks and lay down a bass..redo the kicks and then play my sample..but everything is subject to change during the rest of the process.
