Hello forum,

A few days ago i was asking myself if the, in the metadata, saved slice points from an Apple Loop can be extracted in Logic (or any other sequencer).
eg. to throw each chopped sample into EXS and make some cool stuff with them

I was looking for two things.
One two extract the MIDI-Notes (or lengthes) out of the loop which control the slices.
And second which is the best way to slice the Apple Loop.

I've managed how to slice a sample using Strip Silence and the Audio to Notes function. But i was looking for a good solution for Apple Loops because the Slice Point informations are already saved in the metadata of an Apple Loop file...

Thanks
Zettt

I can't answer this, but this is a really good question! I know Live will take an acidized wave and use the info to assign warp markers and from there you could "slice to midi" which would be the equivilent of what ur tryin to do here. Not sure if Live handles apple loops or not. Recycle and Reason do this, although you have to set the slice points, but the groove and midi lenth are there. Sorry i could not b of assistance, but i would like to know the answer.

That is a VERY good question. I also don't know, but would really like to know how to do that, if it's possible.

Thanks for your answers. I was asking this question in 4! other forums and haven't got any reply.

Seems like a REAL good question though

I'm visiting Musikmesse 2008 next week in Frankfurt/Germany. Maybe the guys from Apple know how to do that.
I am almost sure that there is a solution...
