I got this pretty hot sample where the drums are like 50% playing on the right channel, and 50% panned to the left for PART of the instrumental (theres still some on the right channel).
This happens alot in old samples.. I'm thinking of doing a mono mix... OR, when I layer a drum on it, since it's on the right channel, play it panned to the left channel.
If you mean the drums alone are on the right and the rest is on the left... Can you just sample the right side then convert it to mono and get some nice open drums? Same with the left...
This is the best brake you got.
It makes it alot more easy to sample.
Just sample one channel at a time.
That is why old records are the best.
They did alot of hard panning.
^^^i agree..ive even had songs where the instruments are hard right and lyrics are hard left..makin it a breeze to cut the voice out/get the acapella...if you only sample one channel at a time you can just drop to your sequencer and start...
yup, ive come by a few tracks where the drums were almost completely panned to one side..i love it when that happens. i say do the mono mix, youll probably get better results.
