Frankly, I'm sick of the notion that because you use loops in your beats you aren't talented. Or if you don't chop up your samples like minced garlic you can't be a real producer. I'm not here to give a history lesson or anything but MOST hiphop especially at the beginning of it all straight up used nothing but loops. But thats not the point. I know that every producer here has come across a sample that is so epic you just don't WANT to change the harmony...Or has so much potential on its own that you ALMOST don't want to sample it...But you do...and you love it. If not then you have probably taken a beat that could've sounded as epic as the original and chopped it into oblivion. And on behalf of those samples I shake my head at you solemnly. If you know about the music biz ppl who sample like this pay for their samples at the end and there is no love lost btw sampler and samplee if you do it right. And good music is good music. Don't take whole songs and call them your own but if the **** is great, give credit to the original creators and move along...please....and thank you...

my take on looping is that if you have a vision in mind for a rapper and the loop works perfectly, and you as producer oversee it from start to finish and it comes out hot, then that does take talent because it was your idea to put that loop with those vocals, etc., and you should get credit for the finished product. but if u just loop a song and never add the vocals and just leave it for another producer and rapper to put together with vocals, how much credit should you really get?

man im tired of people hatin too..i play guitar for 7years now and i dont hate on samplin b. everything in music has been done before, its not like if you sample your going to take somethin you couldnt make or think up of in 5 min, i look forward to hearin stuff i would make myself, thats wat i typically sample. Honestly composed beats just sound whack thats the only reason I dont do it. The sht just dont sound real it sound like some corney ass digitalized sound. No hate if u do that tho I just dont like that sound which is why I sample. Also I like sharing music I find in digging for records. Who cares if its a loop or chop...if u chop every beat then u dont kno how to sample b...some samples u just cant make any better, it is exactllly the way you would have played it. but im out just stop the hate

This is a forum. I dont give a F*CK about what other producers think on an internet message board.

The MCs that I work with love my sampled beats.
