Ye you heard me rite but i didint meant it like that. ( Im like those newspapers magz tryin to get readers to read articles =P)
No but seriously producers that samples whole loops, untouched is just whack. I mean DJ Premier for example how many beats he not sampled which not even been sampled?
Just taken some old track and rip it, troughout the beat. Add some drums some background music wtf is up with that.
Producers like Stoupe from Jedi Mind, well thats another story how he implements samples from all kinds of tracks and chop them up hard and add own music to it is a different story.
I guess Premier doin same but.. many beats is just not chopped up enough just ripped.. i cant call that talent.
Samplers nowadays makes beats sound so alike, using same machines and everything it just feels so played out many times. Like same ol **** u heard it not 10 times but 100.
Lets hear other producers opinion on it as well as samplers.
Fill the thread with opinions .. lets hear it

Yo, first of all... calm... the fk down.
I was askin for opinions not flame wars.
Second, yah my english was a bit messedup cuz I just typed it down quickly without really doublechecking it.
Anywayz back to the subject,
" - I mean DJ Premier for example how many beats he not sampled which not even been sampled?"
By this i meant how many beats hasnt Primo made with samples that hasnt even been chopped down ? Just complete loops being used.
( No wonder you didint get this line cuz i sure didint first)
and NO, im not calling him TALENTLESS,
I said the loop sampling im not big fan of and it has nothing to do with sampling itself, cuz for me stealing loops aint even sampling if you aint gonna add a hella lot of instruments to it or modify / chop it up.
Im big fan of Primo, i love beats like Recognize, New York Rider Music... and all that ****.
PRIMO SURE IS AN ICON ENOUGH SAID!
And ya i layed it down bit fked up , i see that when im reading trough my own post. What i meant is that when i hear producers use loops and just adding a drum and some effects, for me that aint a musician or producer. Thats an engineer.
Someone said somethin about well if it sounds good and its hot`?, You should get credits for it,
FOR WHAT? YOU DIDINT MAKE **** TO IT BY ADD A F drum and some background!...
Well does that mean if i go steal Dre instrumental and add another drum and kick on it thats fire and im dope? Hell no...
If you talkin about samplin, you gotta chop the beat up more then umm lets say :0 times !
Sure we got beats like that one PAC used on Changes, its damn nice and its just a loop if i recall it rite but the sound of that one and original is so different so credits should be given to sampler producer behind it.
But for me its a thin line how much modification you need to do in order to make it "yours" and deserving credits.
And ye IT IS about how much you chop it down and not how it sounds, cuz it will always sounded great from the start.
Now if you make some modifications thats another story.
Geez... people need to seperate Sampling and Using others work for real.

yeah, i agree, sampling isnt that cool, i can make a good beat out of many samples like nothing. I just get a pair of bars, cut em up where i see peaks on the waveform, and arrange em to make a melody, add some drums...and for the bass line i do the same s**t, but add a filter and EQ off the higher frequencies :X it aint hard. making a beat outta no samples is more satisfying to me, even though they dont sound as good as sampled beats :/
thats why i try adding synth lines to my samples, it shows more creativity and that i didnt just loop or chop something.

I don't agree with you but I think... because you know how it's done it is easier for you too say it's not talent. Just my opinion though.

The OP said stoupe > Premier.
Nuff said, his opinion's worthless.
Without Premier, there would be no Stoupe, no just Blaze, there would be no Nottz, no Needlz, no deRaNged, possibly no Dilla. You realize how many people he's inspired, and his beat's aren't as much "loops" as you wish they were. And being that he's responcible for a ton of hip hop's biggest hits(not raps biggest cash ins, 2 different things), I think he deserves his respect.
People who don't respect sampling don't resepect hip hop being that it's just as much part of the culture as rapping over the beat. Name a hip hop classic before 2000 that didn't contain a sample.
Two things that annoy me are people who are positive out of ignorance, and people who are negative out of bitterness. People who are neither usually get along with me and agree with most of what I say. People who are one of the 2 think I'm the other.

Do what you do...... if it's whole loops......DO THAT and if it's chopped up to it's smallest demoninator...... DO THAT........Never thought that there would be separate genres of Sample Production. If you good at your style of it ride it til the wheels fall off. It's all about placement feel me. If you produce you can push ya full loop jointz to artist that feel that style. Same with chopped style.....gotta push it to artist that like that feel. I bel;ieve there are no rules in music anymore and anybody can flip the game so do you, not Primo, Blaze, Swizz, or Timbo.
