I'm trying to achieve a good funky guitar sound with GuitarRig 2.
I used the original funk guitar patch which uses AutoFilter instead of Wah for much better result.

I found that positioning the mic very far and toning down the lows gets me almost where I want it. But it still sounds a bit too bright. Adjust the Sensitivity to your liking.

Shizo_funk.bnk.txt (rename to .bnk and put in Program Files/NI/GuitarRig folder)

Hows the guitar playing coming?

Are you looking for a clean wah sound or a chicka chicka sound for shuffling?

Bright guitar sounds work well in the mix. It's one of the things, I've learned: a sound on it's own may sound too bright but will mesh and sound correct in the mix.

Shizo, you may want to look at getting a wah pedal. You can articulate the sound better than with the auto filters.

Hey, guitar playing is coming alright!

I'm trying to achieve the sound like in Jamiroquai - Starchild. I think I've gotten pretty close.. it just seems there are no GuitarRig users around here to check out my patch.

I was thinking about buying a MIDI pedal. But even in America it's difficult to find one, let alone China. You're right about it sitting in the mix alright. In funk music bass is also very important.. gotta buy a bass!
