I communicate with clarity and directness. I simply give my informed opinion or post accurate information in as straight forward a manner as possible. The vast majority of the time you can count on anything I write as being authoritative. If you feel insulted by something I post ... check carefully to see if what I wrote is true. I'll try to be kind, but if the choice is between "nice" and "truthful" ... the truth wins everytime.

Hello.
I have a Charvel San Dimas II as my main guitar and a mid-90s Ibanez RGsomething (gathering dust), plus two or three acoustics, out of which I tend to use a CF Martin (nylon).

Amp-wise, it's either the ol' workhorse Marshall Valvestate 8080 or one of the two Ampegs (a Reverberocket and a, um, Jet-something)...I do record quite a bit simply through the Hi-Z inputs of the Ultralite for a very clean "neutral" sound. Sometimes I've been using my Echocord tube tape echo as a preamp as well - surprisingly punchy distortion from just overdriving that thing.

The way I learned was everytime I sat down to watch TV or anything, I'd have a guitar in my hand going up and down the neck and picking, trying to gain speed.

what's everyone using for amps?

I'm looking hard at the peavey 5150 head for performance but want to use something in the home studio (I won't be able to play a 5150 in the house without the cops being called).

I have the pod xtlive, but would really like to amp and mic guitars.


Looking at maybe the epiphone valve junior or orange tiny terror and play both through an orange cab.

looking for pure high gain metal tone.
