In our world we've constructed here thats all about the "boom bap", i'm shocked i haven't strumbled across more pure drummers in the oldschool sense of the word.

How many of you guys are straight puttin stick to head and addin some real, raw rhythm to your mixes?? And for those who are, let's hear how you've got your kits incorporated into your studio setup

I haven't incorporated my kit yet, but that is something I would really like to do in the future. For it's the neighbors calling the cops on me, I was thinking about an electronic drum set, but it's not the same.

I play. I haven't actually played on any of my tracks, but I have played in some choirs, etc. Right now, I use an electronic kit at home and it is good for practice without the police coming.

I use a TD6 and Addictive Drums to play all rhythm parts live. I'm not the best drummer, but there's nothing like live to make your tracks really fly.

A seeker of the truth is preferable to one who thinks he's found it.

For practical purposes, When I record using my td 6kit, I'll usually assign the output to either ezdrummer or battery.

Alot of times I may stick out rhythms on the pads and use them as perc parts.

The only thing about the electro kit that irks me is the hi hats and cymbals. I can't get a good stick articulation and the hi hat foot controller has a mind of it's own.

My dream is to go to a hybrid setup, using real cymbals, hihat, and real snare while keeping the td6 kick pad and tom pads.

last night, I put my pearl elim hi hat (13 zildian custom a's) next to the td6, it was in an awkward position but I could get used to it. The hi hats are loud as it is, dropping a real snare may drive my neighbors to murder. I'm going to experiment with a mix of mic'd hats, 6" splash, and the rest midi for now.

my dream is to record everything with real drums (save some songs).
