Why/how do most of the vids i see with a mpc have the samples so perfectly choped. ESp samples that get off beat.

i use(or atleast try to use) acid to get my samples like that but have no luck.

the samples that i actually do get perfect (or atleast i think) are barley off beat.

IS doing that(choping) on the mpc easier, or do i just need to learn my program better.

i know what you mean man. I use cool edit pro and my samples always sound kinda off. but i listen to others who use the same, and I guess it's just a matter of learning how to fix the samples. i think it's more than just chopping.

As far as what i can tell about what you are saying, it just comes down to chopping your samples well.

Yeah, i know what you are saying, it's just precise chopping. Their isn't anything an mpc can do that other software can't do. Just practice.

Are you talking about chopping as in editing the wav sample or are you talking about chopping as in the way you play the sample out?

if you're talking about the way you edit it then it could be simply you need to learn more. I got acid pro, when i edit a sample (like an acapella) i turn the snap to grid off, use the eraser tool, and just erase til it get's to the begining, and then make sure you move the auto-fade thing back so the sample has the begining transient loud enough.

if you're talking about getting the sample to play on time, then i would say its just easier with an mpc. Dont really know how to explain it though.

personally i cnt see why anyone wud want to use a 'autochop' function, or 'chop to beat' ect, surely u want to get the chops that YOU want, not wot the computer or MPC wants to give you.
id much rather do it all by ear an gett he exact chops an stabs ect that i want.
jus my opinion of course

I'm with you krytikal, i don't like 'auto' anything. Shoot, i won't even drive an 'auto'matic cause i don't want the machine to do sht for me. Do what i tell you to do, thats it. You don't tell me what your gonna do. Maybe i'm a control freq, who knows. Autochop is like riding a 900RR streetbike on training wheels. But thats just me, i'm from the days of when the man had to be hot, not the machine. This was b4 all this fancy pants autocrap.Plus, i like doing stuff on my own, the auto stuff never gives me exactly what i want. But hey, if it works for you, then do it.
