I've been workin on this beat for the last 3 days and i thought when i opened it this morning it would be finished and ready. But when i did open it i found the crashes to be very prominant, too prominant. Now i hadnt noticed this whilst i was mixing it the previous days so its weird that today its all i can hear in the beat.
So i'm just looking for you opinion on the crashes, are they too loud and in your face? I'm hesitant to turn them down cuz over the last 3 days i thought they were perfect.
Let me know what you think..I appriciate any advice.

Sounds ok to me. Could pan them a bit further away from the hat though. If your not happy just bring them down a little. The reverb tail on the snare might be masking it a little to. I'm not sure.
Nice beat BTW.
Oh yeah I ordered the PT01.

I'll take a listen once I get home this afternoon... but I just want to chime in now that... I've often had the same problem. Not usually while mixing, but when I'm creating my beat, I like to crank the volume... dance around a little bit in between things I'm adding... etc. Then when I come back to mix with the volume low, I will have the same problem with an instrument or two.
Could that have been the problem?.. the other times that you listened and mixed the volume was louder and made other instruments seem louder with the crash and now that the volume is lower you actually notice that the crash is too high?

I think what may of have happen was now you are listening to the
mix with fresh ears so it may not sound like you though it did.
Sometimes it is best to mix in the morning.
Did not listen but maybe later.

Yeah i kno what you mean. I dont think thats the problem though cuz i left the beat and came back to it with fresh ears about 7 or 8 times during the composing, mixing etc. Just today for some reason the crashes seem obnoxiusly loud lol. Weird. I'll probs listen to it 2moro and they'll seem to quiet lol. Thanks for the input anyway. Let me know what you think when you get home.

Yeah sounds fine to me.
I don't think I'll be taking it diging very often. Most of the time I dig its by chance, like if I'm passing a spot. Plus half the fun is getting home to listen if its any good. I think I'll keep the link to that bag lol
If I was going into the west end or something though I would take it.

Nice beat, I like the crashes alot, if I had to change something i would thicken them up a bit, but like I said only if I HAD to. Im kinda not feelin the reverb on the snare. But otherwise its a very solid beat and if u left the crashes as they are now it wouldnt hurt the sound IMO.

Ha its funny you should bring that up, thats what i use when i'm diggin in London. Its a great lil guide, especially if, like me, you dont know London that well (which is basically everyone who isnt a taxi driver). I did actually join that Viny Vulture forum too but eveyone on there is ASS BORING lol.

The beat is finished composing-wise, i have added a bass (in the hook anyway, the verses dont need a bass imo) and i have added a few of my own instuments too. I dont wanna add anything else just for the sake of it, there will be vocals on it in a couple of weeks no doubt so it will sound full then. Thanks for the feed.
