Well not really from your description. You have to make all of your chops the same. Make sure you detect the tempo of the sample as well. Also another tip is to make your drums first play your chops for example 4 bar chops then everything works out easier, however you can't always get perfect chops so aim for the best. But if you have hot drums and perc. when your playing the chops its so easy to rock to as you play them its pretty dope.

Dope beat fam! Check me out... whatever you did to that snare... the filtering etc... actually enhances the drum track a little. You can HARDLY hear that ****... but what you do hear is cool for that track.
Trust.

Real nice crisp drums. NWA used the same sample. Keep bangin!

Naw man your chops DO NOT have to be all the same!!!!!

I keep telling people this.

When I'm choppin up a sample, I CHOP WHEREVER! Don't matter the tempo.

It's all how you piece it together.

Cosign. You don't even need to know the tempo of the sample. Or chop it in a loop, etc. Just chop where you want and you are fine. It's all about how you rearrange it. You don't need a perfect 4 bar loop and chop evenly, find the tempo, etc. You can do without all that by using your ear and your mind.

id also like to add that some samples sound better if they are a bit rough in terms of fitting in with your beats. if the chop is too tight it dont sound so good.
chop wherever you want otherwise you are just limiting yourself of possibilities with that particular sample if you always conform to a perfect loop.
