Yeah, I used to chop up loops in edison then run them in the FL Slicer to rearrange them and make melodies. The trick to the slicer is, don't play it out, use your mouse to draw intricate changeups in the piano roll and get them to the point they flow without any abrupt cutoff. I've recently turned to the darkside though. I no longer use FL, just Reason and my MPC as a controller.
