i got an ojays sample here with you strings and horns, and some drum play and light cymbals

how should i compress this to clean it up? i dont mind the drums or cymbals in the back, i actually dig the cymbals
but i want it to sound cleaner

my samples the beginning of "let life flow"

how could compressing possible "clean it up"?

You have to use subtractive EQ'ing or apply a noise filter to clean up the sample and I suggest you look up compression and find out what it is really used for.

You want to compress something that has already been
compress.At least I would think it is.
