aiight so im trying to make this new beat, but i reached a dead end right now. so i got my drums layed out, and the harmony basically that i sampled. now practically one of the most important things i need is a bassline.

usually i would try to find a clean sample of the bassline on the same song im sampling with everything else, or with the least instruments layered on it, and try to mess with that. but for this song, theres so much **** on it, i cant get a distinct sound of the bassline and the filters are doing its best also.

for the producers who only use an MPC, how do you guys make your bassline? do you face the same problem as me?

im just hoping i can get the yamaha mo6 added to my arsenal on christmas so i can bang out my own basslines.

this is what seperates the men from the boys lol

you gonna need to learn to play your own lines. start laying one note a bar. make another pass tec until its right....keep trying and trying, you'll get it. but if you cant tell if somethings out of tune, you're in trouble.

i study kev brown and pete rock because those are the types of basslines i like.
