got a bit of a problem. i used to have my MPC 2000XL as a slave to ProTools and i would be able to record a song in song mode and have everything tracked out. But since i upgraded to a new mac i forgot what all the settings were in Protools in order for me to do this. Anyone have the same set up and can help me get back into the swing of things?

Thanks

email digidesign. They reply pretty fast and are pretty helpful in my past experience.

every producer I've known, or known of uses or knows how to use protools. People can argue back and forth about whats better, but plan and simple protools is the industry standard. Thats not a statement as to the quality of protools over any other app, it is just a fact. In professional facilities you will always find protools unless it is a 100% analogue situation, which I think I can safely say the chance of anyone coming across in a urban music production situation, is extremely rare.

adlib and getfresh are right. protools is the industry standard and you should get to know it at least a little bit.
