my question is: how do u chop your juicy drumbreaks?

i have often the problem, that i cant "isolate" the hihat, because the sound of the kick or snare goes into the hihat sample. so i hear the "decay (or release)" of the snare/or kick in the attack of the hihat.

what do u do in this case?

do u dont chop each instrument (kick, hat, snare), but do u chop bars? for example: "kick + hihat", instead of only "kick" and "hihat"?

i got the problem, when i chops bars, that i dont have each instrument on one channel to work with it (bit crusher, reverb, eq, etc) and i dont like time stretching so much, i like the original drum sound, so i can only play the drums in the original tempo (becaus of the following hihat)...

hope u understand my problem.

peace

I use ReCycle by propellerheads. It has a cleanup feature that can
eliminate the decay from a snare/kick. It also has tuning functionality so you could make a snare into a hihat. Awesome stuff

It does not turn a snare into hat .
Take any advice with a grain of salt here..

Word, it doesnt automatically turn a snare into a hihat. If you know what your doing, you can make a snare into a hi hat. Its all about the tuning.
