I just started makin beatz and I'm totally into da Old Skool thing. I grew up with that style in the 80s and early 90s, and its a big part of my life. i dont like the disco and dancefloor stuff with the subbasses..

Is there anyone out there who loves dirty, crispy and sometimes flimsy soundin drums with dirty samples or cheesy 80s synth, maybe without a bass?

Someday I will create my own sound, but today I've to learn from the godfathers of rap and try to copy the feeling.

What do u think, is important for the old skool style?
Which Plug Ins qualify for the old synth and instrument soundz?
AND did the old skool godfathers layer there drums??? i think no, or am i wrong?
with old skool I mean beats like Marly Marl, DJ Premo, DJ Kool Herc, Old LL Cool J Stuff, Rick Rubin, Dr. Demeto, Grandmaster Flash, Sir Mixalot, Run DMC, etc..
