Hello i am new to producing...and i decided to try and sample a piano sound from a track i have heard.

I had a very clean cut sample of one note...i exported it as a .wav then loaded into Reason.

I thought and correct me if im wrong if i sampled a piano key once i load it into Reason the middle C would be the sound i sampled and change it's pitch as i move up and down the keyboard...

I did just that and yes the sound sounded good at middle C...sounded the same as in the song i sampled it from...Problem came once i tried to use the other keys on the keyboard..it sounded lame and not true to the middle C or anything like the original track...

Sorry if this is hard to understand im new to all this and was just wondering if this is even possible?

you need to time slice it so that is does not effect the duration of the sample...only the pitch...you cant do that in reason so youll need to do that on an outside source....such as cubase or something

I use music as a medium to talk to people.
