I have a fairly old vinyl that i can't replace...it has heat warps in it though, and doesn't play well on my TTs (jumps the needle around)...
i've heard some crazy ideas to try to fix warping, but i want to know if anybody has any other ideas?

man only thing i know is to put weight on it 4 a couple of day .but on my dvd call deep crates2 they were in japan and this kid had this machine tha he put a warp record in and it took 2 hours 2 straightin it out. i wish i knew what that was because i would have one myself .i have 2 rooms of records and it would be need sometimes....1

i'm kinda scared to use weights, i don't want to distort the sound...
i've heard sheets of glass with weights too, but i dunno...anybody have any luck with it?

I'd say if it was heat warped, then apply a little heat to it then put it between something flat so when it cools, it would cool flat... but that's just a theory. I'm just thinking the vinyl would loosen up after applying heat to it, then as it cools down, especially between glass it would probally cool flat.

get 2 1/4 inch sheets of glass, put the record in between. Put it in the oven on teh lowest temperature for about 3 minutes

google this method if you want for more details. Vinyl collectors use it all the time.

I've done it more than a few times. It's the summer time so if you are scared to fuk it up. Put it between the two pieces of glass (with some books on top and then into the attic for a few days. This is a slow safer process than the oven, but it works. I use a hair dryer, but that's just me.

Get a steamroller, a bag of potatoes, a can of "Fix o' flat" and a midget crossdressing prostitute with a "will blow for food" sign. Works every time.
