It all depends on your software. In ProTools (LE/6): scrub tool, grid-mode, Tab-to-Transient, regions, auto-rename, export regions, etc. all aid in fast and accurate sample chopping and output. In SoundStudio, markers make the task less troublesome, but not as much as ProTools does. On the other hand, I'd much rather chop samples on the MPC than in a program such as Audacity (or god forbid, Quicktime Player), but if I had my choice - I'd go with ProTools all day.
